General terms of business of Camera Dynamics GmbH
for events

1. Scope
These general terms of business for events (“GTB”) apply to the contract for participation in workshops, seminars or other events (“event”) between Sachtler, Camera Dynamics GmbH (subsequently “Sachtler”) and a participant at such an event (“participant”). These GTB shall be valid without exception. They shall be valid only for entrepreneurs and public law legal entities. No contradictory or different participant’s terms will be recognised.


2. Registration, cancellation, confirmation of registration, conclusion of contract 
The participant may register for an event by internet, E-Mail, post or telefax. The participant may cancel registration up to receipt of the confirmation of registration. An effective contract shall come into operation on receipt of Sachtler’s confirmation of registration.


3. Fees for the course
The fees for the course are per person and event, plus the rate of statutory Value-Added Tax valid at the time. The fees for the course do not include the cost of travel to the event, accommodation or meals.


4. Terms of payment
The fees for the course shall be invoiced to the participant. The amount billed is payable within two weeks of receipt of the invoice.


5. Right of withdrawal, alternative participant
The participant is entitled to withdraw from the contract of participation in an event with Sachtler at any time, by giving notice in writing by post or telefax. Up to three weeks before the event begins, the participant has to pay 25% of the fees for the course, up to two weeks before the event begins 50% and thereafter the full fees for the course. The full fees for the course are also to be paid if the participant does not attend the event. The participant shall be entitled to send an alternative participant.


6. Cancellation of the event
Sachtler shall be entitled to cancel the event in case of force majeure or for important reasons. An important reason is in particular given if the necessary minimum number of participants for the sensible implementation of the event is not achieved, or if the person entrusted with running the event cancels his participation. Participants will be informed of this immediately and any payments already made will be refunded. There shall be no further claims on Sachtler. The provisions in Article 7 shall remain unaffected.


7. Liability
Sachtler shall be liable only in cases of premeditation, gross negligence or violation of a major contractual provision. In the case of minor negligence of a major contractual provision, Sachtler’s liability shall be limited to foreseeable damage typical with the contract. Liability for damage to life, body or health shall remain unaffected by this.


8. Applicable law, place of jurisdiction
German law shall apply. The place of jurisdiction for all claims arising from this contractual relationship shall be Sachtler’s domicile, provided the participant is a business person or is not domiciled in Germany.
