Sachtler meets frogs
In 2005, the thirteenth Golden Frog award was made at the Camerimage Festival – now held in Lodz, Poland. The festival, held annually in November / December, was enriched with film presentations, workshops, seminars and lots of special events with some of the top names in cinematography.
Exchanges with professionals
Some 3,000 students from international film academies attended the festival, enjoying the exchange with the insiders and pros of the business. Not only students attend the seminars, but also film-makers already at work, in order to learn from their colleagues.
Sachtler also supported the Billy Williams-workshop with its "Topas" and "Director II" luminaires, and was able to obtain the services of Billy Williams, winner of the Oscar (for “Gandhi”, 1982) as a speaker at the Academy's lighting seminar. Where does light come from and how does it contribute to a scene? The seminar focussed on contents such as these, producing a wealth of information that the students mopped up in their eagerness to learn. |

Rewarding for everyone
With great spirit and energy, Billy Williams talked to the students, answered questions patiently, described scenes and made it clear to every participant just how important light can be if a scene is to succeed.
The seminar audience was delighted, expressing the opinion that the Sachtler workshop alone had made their attendance at Cameraimage worth while.
